As part of the historic $95 million Hearst Ranch Conservation Deal of 2004, thirteen miles of coastline - 959 acres in all - were added to San Simeon State Park. Getting There
Junge Ranch portion: Drive north from Cambria on Highway 1 to Lone Palm Drive at San Simeon Creek Road. Climb down to the beach. Or access it at the corner of Balboa Avenue and Vista del Mar in San Simeon Acres. You can also walk south on the beach from San Simeon Pier at low tide.
Arroyo Laguna area: Park in the small dirt lot two miles south of the main elephant seal viewing area. Walk 3/4 mile trail to the beach.
Point Piedras Blancas: Pull into the paved lot just north of the elephant seals. Climb the gate at the north end of the parking lot and follow the trail. Please respect the elephant seals, they can be quite dangerous and it is against federal law to harass them in any way.
