One of many great views from the highway.
It is pretty much impossible to take a bad picture anywhere
in Big Sur. Just keep your camera handy.

It is hard to define the boundaries of Big Sur. By the broadest
definition, it stretches along California's
Central Coast from
San Simeon to Carmel. The narrowest refers to the village of
Big Sur near
Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.
We live in San Simeon. To us, Big Sur begins where the
mountains abruptly rise above
San Carpoforo Creek and
gloriously continues to
Point Sur and the majestic Bixby Bridge.
will open your eyes and cleanse your soul.
Highway One is magnificent, but we suggest you stop often,
get out of the car. Hike into the canyons at
Limekiln, look for
bits of jade at
Willow Creek, have lunch at Nepenthes.
Take your time and let Big Sur cast it's spell upon you.
Big Sur has often been called "the greatest meeting of land
and sea."
But above all else, Big Sur is a state of mind.
